This Sunday, December 3rd I will be sharing a message titled, Last Days Lovers.
When I was young a movie cam out called Fast Times at Ridgmont High. Yah, I am getting to be an old dude. I don't even know what the movie was about, but it sounded young and crazy. Back in the 80's we thought we were living in fast times. That was nothing, try living in late 2006!
As our world becomes more fast paced and more oppertunities are easily available to us we are bombarded with good and bad choices. We have to keep our spiritual focus if we are going to continue to please God in such fast times. The Bible says that in the last days there will be terrible times. I think the King James called them perrilous times. Why will they be terrible? Because people will "be lovers of them selves" (2 Tim. 3:2) rather than lovers of God (3:4).
So the defining factor is what you love. Ask yourself today what do you really love? Jesus said, "where your treasure is, there your heart will be also." (Matt. 6:21 NIV) What we spend our money, time and affection on is what we really love. At the end of the message this week you will be challenged to take two love tests.
The good news is that if you find you are failing one of the love tests God sent his Son Jesus to pay the price for your failing grade. Asking for his help is simple and all who call on the name of the Lord Jesus will be saved.
God Bless
Special thanks to my friend L. Perkins for a great sermon idea.
