Today I had the treat of meeting Harold Wright. He was the pastor of First A/G from 1969 to 73. He currently lives in Peirce City which is between Monett and Joplin, MO. It was neat to talk with him about how Washington, Missouri has changed and how ministry was in the early days of this church.
His son is a pastor in Joplin and I met him four years ago. He toldme a lot about living in Washington as a boy, but a lot of his memories were scattered. A few months ago I found old record keeping documents that recorded the weekly offerings for the church. It is amazing that people survived in those days at all. God is faithful and meets our needs.
Praise God for people who worked hard so that we can enjoy some of the benifits of a great church for us and for our children.
